What are PDO Thread Lifts?
The PDO Thread Lift is a treatment which lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue, using threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO). The treatment encourages collagen stimulation, promotes skin tightening via contracting fat tissue in the treatment area, and improves skin elasticity and texture.
How do they work?
First, the patient will receive some local anesthesia to numb the treatment area. Then, the PDO threads are gently inserted using small needles (known as cannulas) into the different layers of the skin. Once in place, the threads will anchor the skin, lifting it upwards, and excess threads are removed.
The procedure takes 15-30 minutes depending on the area being treated. There is a mild amount of discomfort during the process, but little pain. The threads themselves are absorbed within 6-8 months.
Not suitable if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
